Maia Favorite Things #7

There’s a meme floating around which reminds those of us fools who live in winter climates that there are multiple fake springs to tease us before actual spring. Either way, fake or not, this season calls for fewer sweaters and more transitional pieces. Button downs with jeans can transition from weather, or a day of zooms, in-person meetings, and an evening dinner with friends. You can always find my daily looks and links here too and follow my LTK.

After four short years of not listening to my manicurist, I finally broke down and ordered some gloves to wear when washing dishes. The goal is to better protect my manicure so it’s longer lasting. The unexpected perk of using these has been much less severe dry hands. I had first tried a pair which had a built in scrubber, and they were very uncomfortable. After I found these, I’ve been very happy with their ease. Plus, I like to make the very glamorous job of washing the dishes just a little fancier.

Speaking of dry hands, this is a PSA that if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Cereve has been wonderful not only for my skin but for Cal’s extreme eczema. I’ve found when it’s in this tub style, it makes it easier for Cal to “help” because he can reach in and we’re then both allegedly working towards the same goal as part of our bedtime routine.

While I’m no longer carrying around hand sanitizer by the gallon size I was doing during the Pandemic. I still love to always have hand sanitizer with me. I recently found Touchland. I love the very light hint of a scent, and the smoothness and the container it comes in is flat which is much easier for packing than the round bottles. You can also get a case for yours to really jazz things up which you can reuse with future bottles.

In keeping with the spirit of overall body care, I’ve been hooked on this lip balm for a few years. It originally reminded me of the pots of Carmex I remember using growing up. This has less of a medicinal smell, but the same wonderful lasting power. I always get it from my favorite shop in Des Moines, Eden.
