Maia favorite things #9

Included in some of my favorite things in life is supporting wonderful organizations and doing it all while surrounded by friends. We attended the Des Moines Ballet Gala this past weekend and I’m happy to report the evening was perfect. (including Mollie Git Down of who I am now a super fan)

I had this really incredible look planned for the occasion and naturally waited until the morning of the event to try it all on. #momlife I was in the middle of sending a picture to my sister for approval (duh) when the skirt zipper literally just fell apart. So I obviously made a game plan to have lettuce leaves for dinner and also b-lined to the mall and prayed for a miracle. Luckily I found this beautiful dress at White House Black Market and it was perfect for the evening. I loved the color, material, and gold metal belt detail. I also spent the evening pretending I was as delicate as a ballerina, (until I got home from the event and helped myself to the thin mints yelling at me from my kitchen)

This week I’m focused on all things Spring, starting my Easter shopping and sharing my favorites. You can also find outfit details and favorite products by following my LTK

This dress from White House Black Market is guaranteed (yes I said it) fun. It has great flow and a wonderful color. It’s a bit more coral in person than the bright pink this image shows. The tie bow on the back makes for a perfect up-do dress.

The limit does not exist for how much my kids can do sidewalk chalk. This year their Easter Baskets will include these sidewalk chalk stencils to shake it up a bit.

I love a themed book, especially when it comes with an adorable character and good life lessons. The Good Egg book will remind your kids (and you?) perfectionism is not the goal.

Never one to turn down matching pj’s for my kids, I love these pj’s for Easter and spring. With their primary color eggs, they are more evergreen without screaming Happy Easter on Memorial Day.

I love these sidewalk chalk bunnies. Truly the perfect Easter basket gift. Their size also makes it easier for small hands to fully grab and hold for maximum coloring capabilities. I’m looking forward to my driveway making me crave sherbet ice cream.

Attn: It’s near / almost / hopefully spring which means it’s time to get out your spring uniform. For me, this means my chambray shirt with my Chucks, and a sweater when necessary. I love this one from JCrew.

My Chucks never ever let me down. They are my Friday uniform often and really make me feel like I can take on the world, or at least feel put together when I also was prioritizing comfort.

And to add to my spring uniform a sweater I can wrap around my shoulders and use as necessary. Oh and also get matching ones for my boys, as their dream is and will always be to match their mother, duh.
