A FEW OF MAIA FAVORITE THINGS #3

I recently had my colors done. If you are a woman and haven’t heard of this, congratulations on your ability to live entirely under a rock. To no surprise, I was a Spring. However, what was surprising is some of the colors within the spring color wheel which I had never considered wearing. I decided if I was going to invest in the process, I’d also commit to trying it out. While I likely won’t fully give up wearing some of the colors I was told don’t work as well for me (white AND black - GASP!) I am working to lean into the ones that do. I’ll also hand it to them, when I do wear the colors within the spring color wheel, without question I get compliments from strangers. A true guide to success in life. Here are a few of my favorites in the House of Colour Spring outfits.

This sweater from Ann Taylor Loft will be worn on repeat. One thing I learned about having my colors done is dark denim is best for my skin tone. I already had these jeans, and am now wearing them even more frequently! Thankfully gold metals were my color and I can continue wearing all of my jewelry. Including this bracelet, I practically live in. MacBook not included…

I attended the Des Moines Art Center gala and decided to be bold and where this currently on-trend lightning bug-inspired colored dress from Nordstrom. While this gala allows for more fashion expression, I also had a lot of fun wearing it. Once again, the compliments were flying about how great this color looked on me, and on the year I turned 40, I’ll gladly take all I can get.

Again, thank the universe gold was the metal for me in this colors assignment. These are my favorite gold rimmed sunglasses which I wear nearly daily and without them in my life would probably go blind. All was well though and I can continue to be properly and fashionably sun protected.
